On January 30th, 2010 the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys came together for the 2010 annual meeting and 1st annual Girls Summit. The meetings were held in three separate locations and tied together via teleconference. The other locations included Rochester and Mankato, MN. Very high tech!
During the Girls Summit, open discussions were had over lunch. Girls were encouraged to exchange ideas about their organization and how to make it better. Technology was a large focus and Twitter was utilized to connect the other locations with the discussions being had. Different questions were asked throughout the lunch igniting an exchange of ideas and thoughts.
The Annual Meeting followed Girl Summit. 2009 in review was discussed as well as the plan of action for 2010. We heard financial and property updates. One Girl Scout was honored with a bronze cross for her live-saving effort. Delegates were asked to vote on 6 motions, including the elections of new Board/Board Development Committee members. After installation of the new board/board development committee members, the meeting was adjourned.
