On a Thursday night in March, 400 women (and a few men) gathered in the Metropolitan Ballroom in Golden Valley, Minnesota. They were gathered for the 20th annual Joint Dinner of Women’s Professional Associations. Most attendees came directly from work. Upon arrival, they walked through an entryway full of displays and representatives from affiliated organizations. Inside the huge, multi-level ballroom were cash bars and many tables. After dinner, a series of women gave powerful speeches; the keynote was by Lois Quam. Proceeds from the event benefited the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota.
