Quote of the evening: “Novelist Edith Wharton once wrote: “There are two ways of spreading the light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” For 25 years, each of you has lit the way to grow equality for women and girls across this state. And like the mirror, you’ve reflected this flame of social change far and wide. The Women's Foundation of Minnesota would not be here today if not for each of you.”

A diverse crowd, including founders, past and present donors, grantee partners, board, staff and volunteers, gathered in downtown St. Paul to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota. The Women’s Foundation is the oldest and second largest women’s foundation in the United States, and it champions economic, political and social equality for women and girls through fundraising, grantwriting, research, and public advocacy.
The anniversary event had a celebratory atmosphere, filled with balloons and bright colors. People drank champagne and ate from the buffet. Eventually, the crowd was quieted in order to show an impressive video created by a group of young girls. After the video, young dancers entered the stage, dressed in bright attire. After their exciting performance, the Women’s Foundation President thanked them and made a surprise announcement regarding successful fundraising. Everyone cheered.
